Danish company Hmk Bilcon has secured a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the delivery of refuelling units for military aircraft and helicopters.
According to a contract award notice published in the EU procurement database TED, the total value of the contract is SEK 338.5 million.
AdvertisementThe contract covers serial deliveries of two types of refuelling units for aircraft and helicopters, including options for additional orders as well as service and maintenance support.
According to the TED notice, the procurement includes both a material acquisition contract and a 20-year framework agreement covering maintenance and sustainment.
AdvertisementIn addition to design, production and testing, the contract includes delivery of an Integrated Logistics Support documentation package in line with FMV requirements.
Integrated Logistics Support is widely used in defence procurement to manage maintenance, spare parts and lifecycle sustainment.
AdvertisementThe TED procurement notice shows that eight suppliers submitted bids for the contract, including companies from Sweden, Finland, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
Among the unsuccessful bidders were Finland-based Jet-Tekno Oy, Sweden’s Net Air & Defence AB and UK-based Imenco.
AdvertisementProject execution is already under way at Hmk Bilcon, with the first delivery scheduled for week 52, according to the company. Hmk Bilcon also stated that it sees potential to supply similar systems to other NATO countries.
